Installing the ME630 (PCI) and ME63 (ISA) 16-Relay Cards

 Tip:

These cards are not supported under Windows Vista or later.

The M630 relay card provides 16 relays plus 8 remote inputs (Dionex part no. 5919.0014). (The ME63 (ISA) card provides 16 relays plus 4 remote inputs. The card is no longer available from Dionex but may still be used in the field.)  The relays and remote inputs can be assigned to different  timebases.

Follow these steps to install the card:

  1. Install the Meilhaus hardware drivers first. The latest drivers and a setup program for installing the drivers are available on the Meilhaus CD-ROM. This step is not required for the ME63 ISA card.

  2. Turn off the computer and install the card in an 8- or 16-bit PCI slot (for the PCI card; for the ISA card, use the ISA slot instead). Use appropriate grounding protection to avoid electrostatic discharge, which may result in damage to electronic components.

  3. In the Chromeleon Server Configuration program, select Add Sharable Device on the Edit  menu  and select Dionex 16-Relay PCI Board (ME630) on the list. To install the ISA card, select Dionex 16-Relay ISA Board (ME63), instead.

  4. Install the Shared Relays and Inputs driver in the timebase for which you want to use the driver. Select Add Device on the Edit  menu. Select Generic from the Manufacturers list box and Shared Relays and Inputs from the Devices list box.

  5. In the configuration dialog, add and assign the relays and remote inputs as required.  For information about the pin assignment, refer to the Meilhaus manual for the card. n the corresponding tab pages.
